The Kokemäki river offers a unique River Trail for cyclists in a stunning cultural environment
River Trail (entire route)
The entire River Trail, from Sastamala, where it connects with the Lake Trails, to Pori, is approximately 145 km long. The route is divided into clear stages through the riverside municipalities and train stations. Detailed descriptions of the stages can be found on their respective subpages.
The River Trail connects Tampere and the Finnish Lakeland region to Pori and its maritime landscapes. It links the Lake Trails to Eurovelo10 and the Bothnian Sea Experience Route. The route is mostly very easy to travel and flat, with the majority being asphalted. Part of the route also runs on gravel roads. The route takes travellers from one riverside municipality and service to another, naturally divided into clear stages. This is further highlighted by the excellent train connections, as the Tampere-Pori railway line with its stations serves cyclists excellently.
